Police investigate bomb threat at Colorado Springs elementary school

An elementary school on the northwest side of Colorado Springs received a bomb threat Thursday.

Police responded to Rockrimmon Elementary, 194 Mikado Dr. W, near the intersection of W. Rockrimmon Boulevard and Delmonico Drive.

Academy School District 20 says the threat was called in at around 10:20 a.m.

The district said the school was on shelter in place status, which is equivalent to a lockdown, while the building was searched.

No explosives were found and the shelter in place status has been lifted.

No other D-20 schools are affected by this threat.

Colorado Springs Police and district 20 security are investigating.
