Clinton, Sanders begin to make hard push for Colorado voters

After a rousing, double-digit win in New Hampshire, Bernie Sanders turns his attention to Colorado.

His team will start running ads on KRDO NewsChannel 13 Thursday.

Sanders raised more than $5 million in 18 hours after beating Hillary Clinton in the Granite State.

Clinton has eyes on the Colorado Democratic Caucus on Super Tuesday, March 1. The former secretary of state just opened a campaign office in Colorado Springs as she readies for a national campaign.

“We’ve learned it’s not whether you get knocked down that matters, what matters is you get back up,” Clinton said Tuesday night after the loss in New Hampshire.

KRDO political analyst Josh Dunn believes the caucus system favors Sanders.

“What Clinton has to hope is that advantage that Sanders has among caucus-goers will be blunted because of the large minority population here in Colorado, bigger than Iowa and New Hampshire,” Dunn said.

Gov. John Hickenlooper, a Clinton supporter, will lead a rally in Greenwood Village Thursday night.

Chelsea Clinton will stump in Boulder and Denver next week.

Sanders supporters will rally at Acacia Park Sunday afternoon.
