UPDATE: Second slide causes day-two delays near Manitou

UPDATE: One of the westbound lanes of Highway 24 is closed Sunday night for a small rockslide.

Drivers began to report the mess late Sunday afternoon, near mile marker 296.

That is very close to the same area in Waldo Canyon that was closed down by a rock slide Saturday night.

Plow crews were sent out to clear the obstruction while State Patrol provided traffic control.

Previous story: Highway 24 was closed for about three hours while crews cleaned up a rock slide near Manitou Springs.

The rock slide is near milepost 296, according to a spokesman for the Colorado Department of Transportation.

C-DOT crews were called on-scene to clean up the debris.
