After days of snow, drivers still dealing with slick roads
After several days of snowfall, drivers in southern Colorado are dealing with icy roads.
Drivers said that while they have seen some improvements, there are still patches of snow in certain areas. Snow removal crews have been focusing on primary and secondary roads. Many neighborhood roads are untouched. One woman said it’s a real danger in her neighborhood.
“The issue is you can’t stop,” Donna Wyatt said. “You’re coming downhill, it’s slick, and so you’re sliding and you’re going into the intersection where the middle school bus stop is, so I’m always terrified I’m going to hit a kid, so I try to time my departure so that I’m either before or after I know the school bus has left.”
City crews are on a full callout, and they plan to work through the weekend to clear roads.
