Arrest made in deadly Springs hit-and-run

The Colorado Springs Police Department says it has arrested a driver who ran over a pedestrian and then drove away.

The incident happened at 7:36 p.m. on January 23, 2016 in the 400 block of N. Circle Drive.

Joshua Debakey is accused in the death of Franz Wilson, 53.

Police say that investigators following up on a lead found the SUV that hit Wilson in the 100 block of S. Claremont Street, which is near E. Pikes Peak Avenue and S. Chelton Road on the southeast side of town.

Detectives interviewed Debakey and say that he admitted he was involved in the crime.
