Pueblo repaving project

The drive from Pueblo West to Pueblo will soon be a little smoother.

A 4-mile stretch of road is being repaved, as well as 13 miles of trails through Lake Pueblo State Park.

So far, the project is on schedule and it’s expected to be completed by mid-summer.

“Anybody whose driven through the park, whether they’ve been on a bicycle or in a vehicle in the last few years knows that it’s been something we’ve really been needing and it’s been something we’ve been working really hard to get the funding for,” said Monique Mullis, a park manager.

If you take this route, the state park asks you to slow down while the work is underway.
