Convenience store manager says he draws in crowds because of his lucky location

A Pueblo convenience store is busier than usual thanks to the record Powerball jackpot.

The manager at M and M Foods on 29th Street said his store is considered lucky. More than 100 people won at least $1,000 from lottery games since 1987. He said this includes a person winning $100,000 eight months ago from a scratch ticket.

Now with the Powerball prize at $1.4 billion, Ruben Aguayo said he has a good feeling he could win by buying tickets there.

“We came here for a reason. I mean this is the lucky store, so I guess that sort of draws us in. So hopefully the lucky store gives us a lucky ticket,” he said.

The manager said, just last week, he sold close to 10,000 tickets.
