2015 – Deadly year in Colorado Springs

There were 26 homicides in Colorado Springs in 2015, seven of the murders happened during mass shooting sprees.

The first happened on Halloween when 33-year-old Noah Harpham opened fire east of downtown. He died in a shootout with police.

Another three people were killed on Black Friday when 57-year-old Robert Dear went on a shooting rampage outside of the Planned Parenthood.

Twenty-one of the 26 deaths were caused by gunshot wounds, two by stabbings, one from drugs, another from blunt force trauma, and the last from a laceration to the neck.

Four of the homicides remain unsolved.

Last year was deadlier than 2014 when there were a total of 23 murders for the year.

2015 was also a deadly year for drivers and pedestrians in Colorado Springs.

Thirty people died on the road, 10 were pedestrians. Sixteen of the 30 fatalities involved drugs or alcohol.

The victim was at fault 21 times.
