Family welcomes Pueblo’s first baby of 2016

The first baby born in Pueblo this year made his entrance into the world Friday morning, six days before his due date.

The Fowlers welcomed the newest addition to their family at St. Mary Corwin Hospital at 5:23 a.m. Parents Sarah and Tim Fowler of Pueblo West were still deciding between several names for their son as of Friday afternoon.

Baby Fowler came in weighing 8 pounds, 10 ounces and measured 20 inches long.

Sarah Fowler said she’s thankful it was a smooth pregnancy.

“Once we started laboring, I really wasn’t concerned with what day or time it was by that point. But yeah we’re just happy he’s here and healthy and safe,” she said.

Baby Fowler also has a big sister, who’s 22 months old.

“We’re just excited to kind of expand our family and you know he has a big sister at home so we’ll be just adjusting to that,” she said.
