Christmas comes early for kids in Pueblo

People in Pueblo are kicking off Christmas early by buying gifts for kids in need.

The first Spirit of Christmas Gift Drive happened Sunday.

It was organized by a Pueblo surveyor who wanted to give back to the community.

21 kids received $100 each to get what they wanted for Christmas at Walmart.

Afterwards the kids went to South Park Elementary School to wrap the gifts.

Sully Scott said he bought more presents for his family rather than for himself.

“Christmas is almost here and I want to get good gifts for my parents and my sisters,” he said.

The kids were picked by school counselors who felt they needed it the most.
