Multi-vehicle crash snarls traffic on I-25 in Colorado Springs

The Colorado State Patrol says 11 vehicles were involved in multiple crashes on southbound I-25 Monday evening, snarling traffic around 6 p.m.

The crash happened near mile marker 136, about a mile north of the S. Academy Blvd. exit.

Colorado State Patrol says there were five separate crashes caused by an initial accident. The cause of the first crash hasn’t been determined.

One person was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

All lanes have since reopened.
