Husband of Black Friday shooting victim speaks out

For the first time, KRDO NewsChannel 13 is learning about one of the survivors of the Black Friday shooting.

Samantha Wagner was a close friend of Jennifer Markovsky, the woman and mother killed at Planned Parenthood.

Her husband, Adam, says she is still trying to process what happened as she recovers from being shot by the same gunman that killed her friend.

Samantha and Adam met 16 years ago while stationed at an army base in Hawaii.

“We are coming up on celebrating our 15th anniversary,” said Adam.

Two couple spends most of their free time together but were apart on Black Friday.

“Her brother called me Friday evening saying that she was shot,” Adam explained.

Samantha accompanied Markovsky to Planned Parenthood and suffered extensive ligament and tissue damage to her arm. Markovsky lost her life.

But she’s determined to push past the physical and emotional pain, with the help of faith, friends, and family.

“She will get better. She’s not giving up, she’s not giving in, she’s not letting the guy get her down,” Adam said. “She’s the toughest woman I know.”
