People in Pueblo pray for gang violence to stop

People in Pueblo came together to ask for peace in the city.

The Pray For The East Side Rally was Monday night.

The Gang Alternative Program of Pueblo hosted the event.

People prayed and were asking for a truce to stop gang violence in Pueblo from Nov. 30 to Dec. 31.

Organizers said they picked these dates because it’s a stepping stone to stop violence in Pueblo.

“We don’t need all of this activity right now. We don’t need it. It should seize. This senseless crime we are having is ridiculous,” Pueblo resident Floyd Jaramillo said.

Pueblo police said there are at least 10 active gangs in the city.
