Prescribed burns to blame for smoke east of Pueblo

The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office says as many as half-dozen controlled burns were conducted east of Pueblo Wednesday.

Smoke from the burns was clearly visible from our Viaero Wireless Neighborhood Weather Network Camera northeast of Pueblo.

The sheriff’s office says the burns have been called off for the day because the wind is picking up. It says none of the burns are out of control.

There was also an unrelated garage fire in the Boone area Wednesday afternoon.
