Black Friday draws crowds as one store plans to stay closed
of the homepage. we ask — who’s the best worker — a boomer, gen x-er… or millenial? we’ll share the research tonight on krdo newschannel 13 at ten. the majority of big box stores will open tomorrow to welcome eager shoppers. but some retailers will stay closed — and at least one major chain.. r-e- i.. has decided to skip black friday. krdo newschannel 13’s greg miller is live at a best buy in colorado springs. where a line is already forming greg. these guys are waiting for best buy to open its doors at six o’clock tomorrow night. but recreation gear retailer – rei – is paying its employees ‘not’ to work with customers on black friday. but will that make a difference? shop inside r-e-i now … because you won’t be able to again until saturday. sot: i like it, cuz everybody gets their day off… those sales could happen at other times. bucking the thanksgiving trend of earlier than ever openings, the franchise closed it’s 143 locatons nationwide. the limited hours… don’t upset its base. sot: over the past year, it’s just gone overboard. the camping out the day before, camping out all day before thanksgiving. standup: despite the shift in position, some stores will still hold those black friday deals… and some shoppers are already in line. ahmed: this year, i’m looking a for a 49-inch tv. ahmed hassan will spend his holiday here – outside of a best buy. most of my family is here… we sit down relax, just hang out. he says they’re ready to brave the cold… they’re even attracting first ?? ti?? time b???? time black friday shoppers. sot: starting to think about it. though they admit they aren’t completely sold on the sales – sot: is it worth it? check back with us on monday and we’ll let you know. each store will find ?? out the payoff … soon enough. you have to be here for the doorbusters … but both
