Homeless shelter needs help raising money for new roof

A homeless shelter in Pueblo needs help raising money for a new roof, or it could be forced to close.

Jade Williams, the program director at the Pueblo Rescue Mission, at 728 West 4th St., said part of the roof collapsed last month after a storm. The mission still needs to raise $16,000 for a new one.

“The worst-case scenario would be that the Pueblo Rescue Mission would not be open for the winter and would have to look at how it would be able to sustain itself and reopen,” Williams said.

The mission serves about 350 people every week. It’s the only shelter for single men and women in Pueblo.
