Former Uber driver charged with sexual assault of passenger

A former Denver Uber driver is accused of sexually assaulting a passenger who fell asleep in his van after a night of drinking.

Forty-three-year-old Luis Galeano-Bedon, who was charged Thursday, allegedly assaulted a woman as he drove her and a friend from a club to their hotel on Halloween night. He allowed both to sit with him in the front because one of them was sick and wanted to be near the window.

According to court documents, Galeano-Bedon told police the women were very drunk but denied any sexual contact. His lawyer, David Suro, says he believes the evidence will eventually show he is innocent.

Uber says he is no longer driving for the service. It also says it is cooperating with police.
