Stratmoor Hills Fire Board meets for legal advice

The Stratmoor Hills Fire Board met Friday for legal advice on how to handle Fire Chief Troy Rotramel’s future.

More than a dozen firefighters sent a letter to the board last week, saying the chief should be fired because he makes racist, sexist and degrading remarks and has shown up to fire scenes intoxicated.

Firefighters were upset because they said the board had ignored their concerns in the past. One even said a board member told him to “quit if he has a problem with the Chief”.

But the Board claimed they didn’t hear of any serious complaints until the letter.

They met in a closed meeting and wouldn’t disclose what was discussed, saying their legal team advised them not to speak until the process was further along.

The Chief has denied all allegations.
