White Cane Day

Thursday, October 15 is White Cane Day. The national observance celebrates the white cane as a tool for independence, and the abilities of people who are blind or visually impaired.

Students from the Colorado School for the Deaf and the Blind will host a rally and concert at Acacia Park in Colorado Springs. It is scheduled from 1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Career fair

Colorado Technical University is hosting a free career fair on Thursday. Everyone in the community is welcome to attend and network with 30 organizations from different industries.

The career fair will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Colorado Technical University (4435 N. Chestnut St.), Rooms 250-252.

Extreme ski-snowboard film premiere

A new ski and snowboard film, Paradise Waits, will premiere for one night only at Stargazers Theatre in Colorado Springs on Thursday. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m.

Tickets for ages 16 and under is $7. The cost for adults is $15.

Everyone in attendance gets a free lift ticket to Crested Butte. The lift tickets are valid Monday through Thursday all season long, or as a buy-one-get-one coupon from Friday through Sunday.
