Production company wants to highlight the Steel City

A Denver production company wants to do a documentary about Pueblo’s history of steel.

Producer and director Jim Havey is working on a project about the Colorado Fuel and Iron Company.

He said at one point CF&I was the largest employer in Colorado and he wants to show how important the company and Pueblo are in U.S. history.

“It was a key company that allowed for the expansion into the American West. They made rail for railroads, barbed wire for fences. They made nails,” Havey said.

He expects production to be done by November 2016.
