Trinidad football players suspended one game for hazing

The Trinidad High School football team will be without some senior leadership because of hazing.

The Miners are set to take on Rye High School Friday night, but seven seniors from Trinidad received a one game ban.

Trinidad School District 1 would not reveal the details about the incident, but Trinidad football coach Randy Begano told the Trinidad Chronicle News that there was an incident between senior football players and freshmen that involved a paddle last week. Players also told the Chronicle that the paddle was used to hit freshmen.

Begano told KRDO NewsChannel 13 that he was notified of the suspended players on Tuesday and that the players should play next week.
