Man stabbed at Fountain restaurant

Fountain Police have released the names of the suspect and victim involved in a stabbing incident inside Wendy’s restaurant Sunday.

Police said it happened around 2:30 p.m. at the Wendy’s on Highway 85/87 in Fountain.

Two men were involved in an argument in the restaurant. Police say the suspect, 56-year-old Daniel Lopez, pulled a knife from his pocket.

A bystander, 36-year-old Cody Tyron, tried to break up the fight and was stabbed in the arm, according to investigators.

Lopez then ran to his home, where he was later found and arrested by Fountain police. He is being held in the Criminal Justice Center on First-Degree Assault charges.

Tyron was treated for his injuries, and was later released from the hospital.
