Aurora theater shooter moved to southern Colorado prison

The Colorado Department of Corrections confirms that Aurora Theater shooter James Holmes has been moved to a Caon City prison.

Holmes was moved to the state penitentiary on September 4. He is segregated from the general prison population and a DOC spokesperson says she does not believe Holmes has contact with any other inmates.

The DOC calls Holmes’ placement at the state penitentiary “transitional housing” and says he is not in maximum security housing.

The Department of Corrections says it has not yet determined where Holmes will be permanently imprisoned.
