Standoff over at northeast Colorado Springs home
Police say a standoff is over after a man barricaded himself inside a home on the northeast side of Colorado Springs.
It all started around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 5400 block of Mosca Pass Court near South Carefree Circle and North Powers Boulevard.
Colorado Springs police say it began with officers responding to a disturbance call involving four people. When police arrived, they say everyone cooperated and came out of the home, except for the suspect, 22-year-old Adam Williams. Police say Williams went into a back bedroom, closed the door and armed himself with a gun.
Witnesses later told officers two of the people inside got into a argument, pulled guns on each other, and then started physically fighting.
Police have named the victim in that incident as Nikkolus Alba, 25. Alba was arrested though and is facing charges of felony menacing.
Meanwhile, police say Williams stayed barricaded inside the home, and so they issued evacuation orders for surrounding neighbors.
The standoff then continued for several hours, as officers deployed flash bangs and tear gas.
It all finally ended peacefully just before 5 a.m.
Police planned to transport Williams to the hospital for a quick medical checkup before booking him in jail on charges of felony menacing, prohibited use of weapons and failure to leave a residence.
