Colorado state trooper hit by possible DUI driver on I-25
A state trooper is recovering after being hit by a possible drunken driver on Interstate 25 in Denver.
Police say 46-year-old Trooper Clinton Stanton was stopped on I-25 near Interstate 70 in his patrol car Tuesday morning when he was hit from behind by another vehicle. The vehicle continued to drive away and then the driver ran. He was later captured.
Stanton was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries and released later in the day. He had stopped along the highway to help a driver who had lost part of their load.
The crash came four days after a Denver police officer was hit by a suspected drunken driver while arresting another DUI suspect on I-25.
