Sinkhole won’t stop expanding

tonight.. homeowners near that large sinkhole in colorado springs.. are worried their homes are at risk. the sinkhole is on chestnut street between vondel park drive and ellston street… just north of i-25 and fillmore. krdo newschannel 13’s greg miller is live there tonight. greg, some people there understandably, on edge. james and heather they are but the good news from the city’s engineer tonight, as long as you stay on the outside of this barrier you are safe – regardless of the fact that this sinkhole has tripled in size, now 25 feet deep. but a bird’s eye view we’re getting tonight, doesn’t put too many people at ease. nats – cars driving off as motorists drive away – neighbors ask why it’s this bad. 0:25 we were driving across that, it could’ve happened to us. but then the sinkhole got bigger – nearly tripling in size in just two days. 0:56 i was like, no way that could fall off, i drove across there, rode bikes and all of that stuff. hobbysits are taking flight… 1:48 it seems to be eroding underneath the street. giving us a birds eye view of the sheer size. 0:55 the city engineer said it wasn’t safe to photograph and since i have the drone, i could photograph it. william white has fired his drone up twice to see the damage clearly he, too was stunned by how it’s grown. 3:18 underneath your street in your city, the sediment can just move. neighbors hoping that movement stops… 1:25 i wish they could get it fixed faster. before this sinkhole gets any wormetal piping underneath the road – which was any worse. as to how fast it could get fixed – the city engineer wouldn’t give me an estimate. he did say up to 500-thousand dollars in capital funds have been approved – they’re looking to replace the metal ping underneath the road – which was fifty years old. also hoping that the efforts prevents any street ponding
