Pueblo City Council wants to be more aggressive to clean up the city
Pueblo City Council wants to be more aggressive in cleaning up the Steel City.
The code enforcement division met with council on Monday night.
The division said more than 3,500 properties have at least five complaints for not being up to code in the last 10 years. That includes overgrown weeds and illegal dumping.
Council’s proposal is to give people one chance to get their property up to code, if they don’t, they could get a court summons.
“The neighborhoods have to be viable for people to settle, and for industries, along with companies to move,” Pueblo resident Joe Latino said.
Some council members also want to use $1 million from the reserve fund help clean up Pueblo.
