Springs PD investigating attempted kidnapping report

Colorado Springs police are investigating a report of an attempted kidnapping.

It happened just after 9:30 p.m. Sunday in the 6900 block of Delmonico Drive, according to police.

A 15-year-old boy told police he was riding his bike in the area when an older black van pulled up alongside him. The boy said a passenger in the van told him to “slow down” as the van pulled over.

The passenger then reportedly grabbed the teen by the shoulder, causing the boy’s bike to fall over. The boy then punched the man in the stomach and was able to pedal away on his bike.

Police say the van had no side doors and dual rear hatch doors.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Springs police at 444-7000 or Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.
