Police: Threat made to Pueblo military recruiting center prior to Chattanooga shooting

The Pueblo Police Department has confirmed to KRDO NewsChannel 13 that it learned about a threat to the city’s military recruiting center about a month ago.

Deputy Chief Troy Davenport says the department was contacted by the Criminal Investigation Division team from Fort Carson, which said a threat had been made to the center.

Police say they launched an investigation and learned that similar threats had been made to other recruiting stations across the country.

Davenport says the department came up with a plan to deal with any potential incident, but that it is not providing extra security to the center.

Davenport said that on the day of the shooting in Chattanooga, the department sent officers to the recruiting center in Pueblo as a precaution.
