Colorado Springs road back open after crash

Four people are hospitalized following a car crash in Colorado Springs.

The crash happened at Nevada Avenue and Jackson Street just after 9:15 p.m. Sunday .

Police confirm that speed was a factor in the crash and witnesses say a red Corvette was going 80+ miles per hour and clipped the back of a silver car waiting to turn at the intersection.

The silver car was pushed and stopped in the front yard of a house in the area. That Corvette caught fire.

A father and son were inside the silver vehicle, the father was unresponsive when paramedics arrived. His son, 11 years old, was responding and talking.

The area was closed off for several hours as officers investigated.
