Lightning hits workers at construction site

tonight, severe weather strikes in southern colorado. five people are o-k after being struck by lighting while working outside. it happened at an apartment complex under construction in coloradoj springs… at woodmen and tutt boulevard — east of powers on the city’s eastside. krdo newschannel 13’s greg miller talked with one of worker who saw it happen. greg, they are lucky to be alive. two of the five workers struck by lightning didn’t even go to the hospital, three others were taken to the hospital and one is still there tonight. and workers here say the storm came out of nowhere. 2:18 it was sudden, but it just echoed, it just stayed and rolled out. kind of like a tuner fork. bright lightning hit this construction site. 2:10 it was like god. worker chris vander ver went inside his truck, and was on the phone, when he saw the bright flash in the rear-view mirror. 0:23 i told my co-worker hey, we gotta go. 1:56 it was a lot brighter than most usual lightning, but this was pretty close. scanner – patient cannot feel his legs, but stated he feels okay. checking on the third patient. the third of five patients… all construction workers. the storm that passed produced about 50 strikes of lightning within five minutes. a lot of folks think storms with a lot of lightning are athe only storms that can cause a lot of lightning related damage or injuries, but all it takes is one strike. we’ve seen a couple examples this year already. including a man who survived after being struck while playing cricket. i had one scar around my neck and a few around the chest. as for the five in today’s strike, they’ll be okay… from a storm ]! _]! ]!_ ]!}!] which left a big impression to those who simply watched. i saw it as i was hearing it and my mindw as still trying to comprehend that i’m seeing it in my mind. this may seem obvious but, when you see lightning, stay away from power poles, trees and try to be as low as possible – because lightning is typically strikes the tallest object. live in cs, gm, nc 13. this may seem obvious but, when you see lightning, stay away from power poles, trees and try to be as low as possible – because lightning is typically strikes the tallest object. live in cs, gm, nc 13. el paso county’s had el paso
