Neighbors aid in Fountain fire rescue

Neighbors stepped up to help out another neighbor in Fountain Friday night after a garage started on fire.

The fire happened around 5:30 p.m. in the 600 block of Harvest Field Way, east of Interstate 25.

Fountain firefighters said when crews arrived, the fire had already jumped from the garage to a vehicle. Neighbors said they ran in to save several pets inside, including four dogs and a cat.

“After we got out the majority of animals we could, I grabbed a hose and just tried my best to get the fire out,” said Jess Wagoner, neighbor.

The fire did not spread to the house.
