Parents Protest after Radio Host Makes Breastfeeding Comments

Hundreds of protestors gathered outside of the Magic FM Radio Station on Friday morning. Parents say they were unhappy about comments made by the stations radio hosts.

On Wednesday, two hosts compared breastfeeding to incest and public urination. Emily Vanley, a mother of two, organized the protest on a Facebook page.

“It was very upsetting that someone would compare such crude acts to such a beautiful moment,” Vanley said.

Several parents were caught off guard including one certified lactation educator, Kaylee Mauder.
“I assumed it was a joke, but no doubt a very distasteful one, and i knew it was going to blow up quickly,” said Mauder.

Protestors spent about three hours outside, proudly holding their children in one hand and a sign in the other.

“Would you want to be in a restroom to feed your own child? No. Would you want to eat your lunch in the restroom? No. Would you want to eat your dinner covered up? No,” said Mauder.

But there’s a bigger message behind these signs, the parents say they want to educate the public.

The radio hosts showed up to the protest, but did not want to talk.
