Flash Flood Watch issued for El Paso & Teller Counties

Periods of rain, heavy at times, will produce the potential for flash flooding through tonight.

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for El Paso and Teller Counties until 6 p.m. Beyond this, parts of Jefferson, Douglas, Elbert and Lincoln Counties are included in a Flash Flood Watch from noon to 9 p.m. today.

Many areas around the Pikes Peak Region have accumulated between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain since Monday night. With the ground already saturated and more rain expected, there is a higher likelihood for flash flooding in this area.

The Waldo Canyon and Black Forest burn scars will be especially susceptible to flooding.
