UPDATE: Woman killed in crash near Penrose identified

State Patrol is investigating a deadly crash that happened in Fremont County Tuesday morning.

It happened on State Highway 50 and M Street near the town of Penrose just before noon Tuesday.

34-year-old Jamie Tennant was unrestrained at the time of the crash. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman headed north on M Street and was hit by a Dodge truck going east on Highway 50. Troopers said the woman was not wearing a seat belt. Two passengers in the truck suffered minor injuries.

State Patrol said the woman failing to yield right of way is likely a factor in the crash.
