Badly injured dog found abandoned in Denver neighborhood

Denver Animal Protection (DAP) is trying to figure out who is responsible for a dog that was found badly injured.

The two year old Pit Bull mix was found in the 1500 block of W. Maple Ave. on March 5, 2015.

DAP says the dog has severe injuries to his head, ears and legs that are consistent with dog fighting. He is expected to survive.

Dog fighting is a felony in Colorado. Convictions for dog fighting can result in a fine of up to $999 and/or a year in jail.
