High school graduates celebrate a 38 year tradition

It’s a girl’s night out that’s been happening for more 30 years in Pueblo and on Saturday the tradition continued.

The 38th annual Comadres Dinner happened at theNacho’s Restaurant at Elmwood.

It started because four Central High School graduates had their birthdays in February.

Since then, it has grown.

Sondra Garcia is part of the original group of four. She said she hopes the tradition can go on for another 38 years.

“Now we are bringing our daughters into it. There are a few daughters of ours that are joining in. It’s just something we want to keep doing every year until we can’t do it anymore, then our daughters can take it over,” she said.

Because of the birthdays, the girls also have a gift exchange.
