Snow ends this evening, slick spots will remain through morning commute

Rachael says tomorrow will be much warmer, but that the wintry weather will return tomorrow night into Friday.

The layer of cold air that settled in over eastern Colorado Wednesday was so shallow that its affects were felt most dramatically on the plains. Above the cold air, Pikes Peak and Cheyenne Mountain reported sunshine most of the day with temperatures ranging from the 20s to the 40s. In Colorado Springs, the temperature remained in the teens most of the day.

The Colorado Springs and Fountain police departments are on accident alert, as is the Colorado State Patrol in El Paso County and Fremont County.

Accident alert and cold reporting mean that drivers involved in minor accidents that do not involve injuries, drugs or alcohol should get to safety and fill out an accident report as soon as possible.
