Trial date set for woman accused of running over father and son on sidewalk

A trial date has been set for a woman who is accused of killing a 5-year-old boy when she ran him and his father over while they were walking on a Colorado Springs sidewalk.

Xyrjah Goldton’s trial will begin on May 11, 2015.

Police said Goldston was driving 50 miles per hour in a 35 mile per hour zone when she lost control and crashed onto the sidewalk on Murray Blvd. between Bijou St. and Platte Ave.

Ishaq Hameed, 5, was killed. His father, Raphael Hameed, was critically injured and lost his right leg as a result of the crash.

Goldston will be tried on the charges of vehicular homicide, vehicular assault and reckless driving.
