Police officer shot in northwest Denver

Authorities say a police officer was shot while trying to make an arrest in northwest Denver.

Denver police say Friday afternoon’s shooting in the Sunnyside neighborhood did not involve an officer from their department but they will investigate because it happened within city limits.

The officer, whose name has not been released, is expected to survive. No other injuries were reported.

Police have not said what led to the shooting.
