Tumbleweeds overwhelm Pueblo West neighborhood

A Pueblo West neighborhood was hit with tumbleweeds as winds picked up across Colorado.

The neighbors live on and near Pendleton Court in Pueblo West.

Jennifer Barras showed up at her house after work and could barely make it through the front door. She had to shovel tumbleweeds aside to get through. She is not able to open her sliding glass door because there is a pile of tumbleweeds more than 3 feet high.

Barras and her son sifted through a pile of tumbleweeds on the side of their home that was over 4 feet high and blocked them from getting through to the gate to the backyard.

Barras’ neighbors had similar problems.

Asriel Pena couldn’t believe what she saw when she got home from school. Her dog caught stuck in tumbleweeds.

“Well, I don’t like it. I don’t like how it’s covering our house. It just looks bad,” said Pena.

The neighbors hope the wind carries the tumbleweeds out of the neighborhood.
