New courtyard brings memories of Pueblo’s past

A group at Centennial High School in Pueblo wants to connect the school’s past to its future.

Alumni and current students came together Thursday to open the school’s new courtyard.

It took six years to finish the $300,000 project.

Centennial graduate Don Madrid said he’s happy to see a courtyard dedicated to the high school’s past.

“We said when are we going to get this done and finally we got the money to complete it and I don’t know but if you see it in my face, we’re awfully relieved,” he said.

The cost of the courtyard was covered by grants and donations.
