Denver defendant skips out of trial on lunch break

Authorities in Denver are looking for a man convicted of assault and kidnapping after he skipped out of his trial.

Forty-year-old Clifton Williams, who was out on bond, failed to return to court after a lunch break on Tuesday. The next day, jurors convicted him of attacking a 27-year-old woman with a stun gun.

Prosecutors say Williams grabbed the woman from behind but she managed to escape and flag down a passing car for help.

Jurors found Williams guilty of all charges filed against him – second-degree kidnapping, attempted sexual assault, unlawful sexual contact and third-degree assault.
