Deadly accident on I-25 Sunday morning

One person is dead and another is seriously injured after a single vehicle crash on I-25 Sunday morning, just north of Pueblo.

The accident happened near mile marker 114.5 and closed lanes on Northbound I-25.

The Colorado State Patrol says the passenger who died is 35-year-old James Stallins of Colorado Springs. He was ejected from the car. The driver of the car, 45-year-old Michael Lopez of Colorado Springs, was restrained at the time of the crash. He was transported to Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs and treated for serious injuries.

At this time, alcohol and drug use are not suspected, but being asleep at the wheel is the contributing factor to the crash.
