Famous Pueblo building is in the spotlight

It’s something that doesn’t happen in Pueblo every day, but a famous building in the Steel City is in the spotlight.

The Evarz Steel Mill was lit up on Friday night.

It’s the third time this has happened this year.

The lighting of the mill shows the opening of a new exhibit at the Steelworks of the West Museum.

The new exhibit is called Heritage Square. Gregory Howell created the exhibit. He said the reason it was created was to show how many people from around the world worked at the mill back in the 1920s, when it was called Colorado Fuel and Iron.

“Diversity is a plus and Pueblo was far ahead of the curve. People from every culture worked together in the mine and steel mill,” he said.

People from more than 30 countries worked at the mill when a list of employees’ nationalities was kept track from 1923 to 1924.
