CSU vows to punish any students in rowdy crowd

Colorado State University says it will help police identify any of its students who may have been part of a rowdy crowd at a house party near campus.

Police say they encountered a crowd of 300 or 400 people late Saturday night, with some of them throwing bottles at them. The Coloradoan reports that the officers called for backup but by the time other officers arrived, most of the crowd had left.

A CSU spokeswoman says any students who were involved in the disturbance will face consequences in the university conduct system as well as possible legal ramifications.

Officers were called to the same area in April when a party of about 20 people swelled into an unruly crowd of 200.
