Pueblo shooting victim identified

Police confirmed late Thursday morning (9/11/14) that a man who died after he was found bleeding outside of a Pueblo bar was shot in the chest.

The investigation is being treated as a homicide.

Around 1 a.m. Thursday, Ray Castro, 49, was found bleeding outside The Pixie Inn in the 400 block of Santa Fe Avenue.

Castro died on the way to the hospital.

Sgt. Eric Gonzales said a fight started inside the bar and spilled outside onto the street.

Santa Fe Avenue was closed for the investigation earlier but is now back open.

Officers are interviewing several people suspected of being involved, and the investigation is ongoing.

Officers did get a description of a vehicle leaving the scene. They later found and seized the vehicle.

This marks the 9th homicide in Pueblo so far this year.
