Contents of suspicious package investigated

An investigation is underway after a suspicious package was found in Rockrimmon.

Police were called to the 200 block of W. Rockrimmon Blvd. just after 2 p.m. on July 28, 2014.

Investigators say the package was found near a dumpster at a townhome complex.

Patrol officers were not able to identify the item, so the explosive ordnance disposal team was called in.

It’s still unknown what the item was.

Police are investigating whether this incident is related to an earlier report of shots being fired in the area.
