Troopers say weather contributed to crash that seriously injured teen

An 18-year-old suffered serious injuries in a crash on I-25 north of Pueblo Monday evening (7/14/14).

The crash happened in the southbound lanes of I-25 at milepost 104, near Eden.

Investigators say a tractor trailer slowed down because of water that was ponding on the interstate. They say the teen, who was driving a 2000 Buick sedan, did not slow down and crashed into the back of the semi truck.

Christian Duran, 18, of Pueblo was behind the wheel of the Buick. He was taken to Parkview Hospital with serious injuries.

Ronald Loewen, 68, of Aurora was driving the tractor trailer. He suffered a minor injury in the crash but did not go to the hospital.
