Man Dies on Arkansas River

The Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office reports a man died on the Arkansas River this afternoon.

It happened about 8 miles south of Buena Vista.

Witnesses say they saw a man having trouble with his kayak.

They saw him heading ashore, but then a short time later, that same man was found floating face down in the water behind his kayak.

Right now no word on exactly what happened to the victim. His name has not been released.
